SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

Thß monthly meeting of the Hornby School Committee was held on Friday evening ; present— Messrs Clafkson (chairman, Leslie, Piper, Kerr, Burt and Kinross. An apology was received from Mr Humm. The master reported a« follows: — Number en the roll, 72 boys, 82 girls, total 154 ; average for last week 59.7 boye and 64.3 girls, total 124. The committee voted for the following candidates for the North Canterbury Board of Education :— Messrs M'Millan, Goldie, Baker, George' and 'Sheet. The Visitirig Committee's report was considered satisfactory. Messrs Kinross and Kerr were appointed a Visiting Cominittee for the month.
