The following statement shows the amount of Customs duties collected at Lyttelton during the week ended Feb. 25:— Spirits £928 5s Id, cigars, etc., £191 2s 6d tobacco £960 Is, wine £59 11s 4d, beer £10, tea £125 15s 4d, sugar, etc., £591 5s 9d, weight £469 7s sd, ad valorem £1865 15s 6d, other duties £41 19s Id. total £5041 Is. The "British Medical Journal" of March 18, 1899, contains an interesting statement by the celebrated Dr Joseph Carae Ross on the treatment of influenza by the Cinnamon Cure.
