The annual race meeting of the Sydenham Amateur Swimming Club was held this afternoon in the Sydenham . baths. The weather was favourable, although it came over sordJewhat chilly towards the evening.. The followare the results: — * ' MODDER DASH HANDICAP, 25yds— First heat: G. Bosher, 9sec, 1; J. Howiedn, 33cc, 2. A Milne scr, and C. Meanes 3soc also started. Time — 24 l-ssec. Second heat : K. Snell, Bsec, 1; T. Spencer, 4sec, 2. W. Mitten, 2sec and G. Smart 48ec also started. Time — 21sec. Third heat: C. Schneider, 2sec, 1 ; P. Squires, 7sec, 2. L. Thomns lsec, L. Sibbald lsec and T. Wilson Ssec also started. Time — 18 4-ssec. Final, heat: G. Bosheri Osec, 1; B. Snell, 3sec, 2. J. Dodge 1, 'i l . Gill 2. M. Wauqhop, H. Squires and C. Watson also started. Won easily. Time — 39 1-osec . SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP OF CANTERBURY; third distance, 75 yards— C. Dodge, (Broadfields) and H. Hilson (Richmond) a dead heat. J. Hay (Sydenham) and J. M'Neish (Lyttelton) also started. The competitors kept well together for the first two lengths, but in tke last lap Dodge and Hilson drew away, and after an exciting contest, tied at the finish. Time— 63 4-ssec. This was tho best race witnessed this season, the competitors coming in within a second of each other.
