Mr Lyne says that he quite agrees with the position token up by Mr Crick with regard to the Cape cable, and is only waiting the settlement of a few details with Mr Wan-en before cabling Home the acceptanod of die Eastern Extension Company's proposals. As far as New South Wales is coa* cerned the matter is settled. (Received Feb. 24, 10 a.m.)i BRISBANE, Feb. 24. The Premier is forwarding Mr Chamber^ lain a strongly-worded protest against the Cape Cable, on the ground that it will prejudice the Pacific scheme. He has also communicated with New Zealand and Canada, and has asked the Agent-General to communicate with the Board of advice en. the subject. The Premier states that as soon as matters ore in a settled' state Queensland will float the loam in London recently authorised by Parliament.
