FLORAL FETE.
_ <_ A meeting of the Floral Pete General Committee was held at the City Council Chambers last evening. The president (Mr ,C. Louisson) occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance, including a number of ladies. The balance-sheet of the late fete, audited by Mr R. 0. Duncan, was received and adopted. It showed the gross takings ab the fete to have been £488 13s 3d, and a. credit balance of £236 13s 9d. The Chairman imported that thii3, added to the amount from previous iotas, would give the trustees about £600 in the bank, with which to improve the water supply in the river Avon. The Executive Committee was instructed to take into consideration better arrangements for the Jubilee fete than those made last year, and to bring up a report atthe firat meeting in connection with the next fete. Votes of thanks were pawed to tha ladies who liad provided the tea kiosks,'' to M-_~ Cabot (secretary) to the Ladies' Committee, to others who had assisted, and also to Mr J. P. Kelly for ids management of the gates. The meeting closed with, a vote of thanks to the Presi dsnt (Mr C. Louisson), and to th* Lady President (Mrs Stead).
