The Agent-General cables from London, under date Feb. 12:— General Buller's retirement was caused by his inability to make entrenchments on Vaalkrantz and the . exposure t>f the position to the Boer guns. The Boers are plundering in Zululand. Lord Roberts is at Modder River. Nothing is known of his plans of operation. The subscriptions to the Bushmen's Fund received at this office amount to over £1000.
