THE CONCILIATION. AND ARBITRATION ACT. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Feb. 13. At a meeting of 1 the Industrial Association, Mr Samuel Brown, president, in cussing the Conciliation and -Arbitration Act,, urged that, if the Act was. to be amended the Government ■ should take the advice of those experienced in the- working of the Act, and do nothing to restrict or harass manufactures or industries. One speaker pointed; out .that the Act appeared to be in force only in towns. This pressed heavily on employers in a city when in competition with outside districts. The speakers severely criticised the Conciliation Boards, .urging that they should be differently constituted or abolished.
