He had ■ itaTted to make a comfortable home for himtelf, and is supposed to have been drowned in fording Herekino Harbour on his way to the gum fields. .; Yesterday afternoon a man employed as :; 6aker on board the Waihora fell down one of the hatches, a distance of about 10ft. '; fife waa severely shaken, but his injuries '■'&-' fcf© supposed not to be serious. He was r \ taken on to Wellington in the steamer. I-; ' About five o'clock yesterday afternoon ; j» lumper named Stephen Lambert, a middle - *ged man, fell into the hold of the ship s Ihessalus while engaged in discharging £ He fell about 25ft, and sustained a : l fracture of the base of the skull, besides f.- his right wrist and several ribs.
