LYTTELTON.
A large crowd assembled round the agency of the " Lyttelton Times," where the returns were posted, and also in Oxford Street, where the retui'ns, a-s received from the "Lyttelton Times" Office were exhibited on a screen by means of a limelight lantern by Messrs Taylor and Kay. The Marine Band played a number of selections during the evening. The crowd remained until the small hours of the morning. The news of the victories of Government supporters, and especially the result of the Christchurch election, were received with heart}' cheers.
