It was supposed t'haifc someone had committed a breach of Section 145 of the Electoral Act by forging the papers, and this so completely that tho corner was gummed in 'the official manner. Detective Fitzgerald however discovered that there had been nothing more than a mistake in delivering parcels of printing, a parcel of anti-no-license matter going to the Geraldine Returniug-ofticer, and his°parcel of ballot papers going to one of the hotels, "where it was opened, and some of the papers taken out before it struck anyone that a misdelivery had been made. Detective Fitzgerald, it is understood, recovered nearly all the ballot papers that went into circulation.
