For the local examinations by the Associated Boards of the Royal Academy and the Royal College of Music there were fortyseven candidates, of whom thirty came from St Mary's Convent. All these passed, and one of themj Kate Connell, obtained honours for senior singing, with 141 marks out of, a possible 150. The only other competitor to secure honours was Rose Falconer, for senior piano, with 130 marks.
