A No-Lice-nse 'meeting was held in the Papanui Town Hall oh Sunday evening. There was a large attendance. The Rev H. T. Pnrchas occupied the chair, and ad- ■ dreisses were delivered by the Rev J. M. Simpson and the Rev C. Porter. 'Tire Labour Department, acting under legal advice, states that the provisions of Section 10, Alcoholic Liquors Act Amendment Act, 1895, do not in any way control holidays under the Shops and Shop Assistants Act, or Factories Act, as they are not specified in either of these Acts.
