THE GOVERNOR AND THE WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD.

Correspondence in connection with the refusal ito allow the Governor's carriage to go down the wharf recently because the ,wharf was just then crowded was read at a (meeting of the Wellington Harbour Boanl yesterday. The Governor asked that his carriage should at all times be admitted to .the wharf. The Chairman said that .the Governor practically demanded an inquiry into the matter. The Board considered that the official who had stopped the carriage had only done his duty in observing the bylaws, and it was decided that the reply which 'had been sent by the Secretary to the Governor, explaining the circumstances under which the carnage had been stopped, should be approved, that the Board had no further comment to make, and .that a refpeotful letter accordingly should be sent to the Governor.
