WEATHER FORECAST.
Captain Edwin telegraphed tho following weather forecast to-day: — Moderate to strong west to south and south-east winds; the glass will rise, the tides will be good, and there will be a considerable easterly swell. The following weather forecast was telegraphed from "Wellington to-day: — Wind moderate to strong from between we3t and south-west and south at all places northward of Thames- and Manukau, and also southward of Kaikoura and Hokitika ; but between northeast and east and south elsswhere. The barometer will rise at all places north of '1 names and Manukau, and fall thence southward to Kaikoura and Hokitika, and rise slowly thence southward. The sea will be heavy from the eastward between Castlepoint, East Capo and Tauranga, and moderate elsewhere. The tides will decrease on all the western coast, and on the east coast southward of Kaikoura, and will be high at all other places. Rain is probable after sixteen hours at all places east of Tauranga, Taupo and Cape Pallißer. Synopsis of last twenty-lour" hours:— Very little change of pressure anywhere, but it has increased generally. The weather has been fine except in tho extreme south, where it has been showery. Frost is reported from • Cambridge, Opotiki and Gisborne. There is a low pressure to the northcast of East Cape, travelling about south south-west, and also one in abont latitude 50 to 55 south and longitude 125 east, which is travelling ' eastward.
