WEATHER FORECAST.
Captain Edwin telegraphed the following weather forecast to-day: — North-east to north and west galo after ten hours from now ; the glass will fall, the tides be high and the sea heavy. ' . . The following weather forecast was telegraphed from Wellington to-day:— Wind strong from between the west and southwest and south at all places northward of Napier and Now Plymouth. Strong from iho same direction, but, changing to a gale from between north-eaat and north -and west after ten hours at all places., thence southward of Kaikoura and Hokitika;' gnle from between north and west and south-west- elsewhere. The barometer will riae at all places northward of Napier and New Plymouth, and fall everywhere else. The sea will be heavy on all the western coast, and on the east coast southward of Napier. The tides will be nigh on all 'the western coast, and on the cast coast south of East Cape. Synopsis of the last twentyfour hours: — A falling barometer everywhere until about 2 p.m.. and since- then it has risen everywhere. Strong westerly gales have been experienced south of Napier and Aew Plymouth, with rain. Frost is reported from Blenheim, Tophouse and Naseby. The depression from the west crossed the meridian of South Cape about 3 p.m. yesterday.
