WEATHER FORECAST.
Captain. Edwin telegraphed tlie following forecast to-day:— North-east to ■ north and west gale, after ten hours from now. Glass fall. Sea from northward off shore, and fades 1 good. Wind moderate to strong from between -west, and south-west and south at all places during the next ten hours, "but changing after that time to a gale from between north-east and north and west at all places southward of Napier and Cape Egmont. Barometer further rise everywhere, but falling again soon at all places southward of iSlapier and Cape Egmont. Sea heavy on the western coast, heavy from the southward on "the east coast south of Napier. Tides decreasing on the east coast northward of East Cape,^ high elsewhere. The following is a synopsis for the last twenty-four hours: — Northward of Napier and New Plymouth there was a slight decrease of pressure during afternoon, but ihe pressure increased slowly since 5 p.m., and has increased everywhere else steadily. .Strong westerly -winds were prevalent south of Napier and New Plymouth, and generally with rain, but snow has fallen at Lyttelton and on nearly all the high country in the South Island. Frost is reported from Naseby and Pembroke.
