-~* . . [Pee Psess Association.! WELLINGTON, June 26. The Wellington City Council intends to proceed with a Bill this session to enable it to borrow £336,000. Of this sum , £100,000 is set down for the acquisition of; the City Tramways ; £120,000 for the extension of the water-supply; £45,000 for the purchase of the electric light works ; and £50,000 for building a town hall. i The colours forn:erly presented to the Wellington Volunteers by the ladies of Wellington, and since deposited in the Museum; will be handed over to the new battalion. The presentation -will be made by Lady Ranfuiiy. At the Stipendiary Magistrate's Court this morning seventeen persons were charged with not sending their, children to school. Ten were fined 2s each, without costs. The remainder of the cases iwere adjourned in order to procure proof. The new Chief Justice sat to-day for the first time. •
