Gardefeu was one of the-' best three-year-; olds in France last year. He. won the French Derby, and finished second in the Grand Prix de Paris. Among the entries for the Ascot Cup were the Australian-bred horse Atirum and the New Zealand Cup winner Waiuku. The former was withdrawn from training some months ago; but the latter, on latest advices, was in work.)
