— > i On Wednesday evening Mrs T. M'Cormack, wife of Constable M'Cprmack, who has just been • transferred from Lyttelton to Christchurch, was presented by a representative gathering of townspeople with a purse of sovereigns, as a token of the regard in which her husband was held by the people of Lyttelton during his long stay at the port. His Worship tbo Mayor occupied the chair, and many of the speakers referred in eulogistic terms to both Constable and Mrs M'Cormack. j
