MEETING OF CREDITORS.

- — o RE HIRAM HUNTER. : : The .first meeting of creditors in the estate of Hiram Htmter, storekeeper, Sydenham, was to Save, been held this morning, but, although- three creditors attended; only one of them 'proved. • Mr Flesher appeared foi the bankrupt, whose statement showed :— Liabilities— Unsecured creditors, £92 2s 2£d, Assets — Book debts £25 6s B_d, estimated tc produce £20 ; cash ih Union' Bank of Australia,, 15s lld; total, £20 15s lld ; deficiency, £71 6s 3£d. The principal unsecured creditors were^New Zealand Farmers Co-operative Association £45 ls 6d," Centra: Dairy Company £26, J. C. Moore £5 ls, The debtor, in his sworn statement, said that he had recently carried on business as a general grocer in Montreal Street, Sydenham,, but he had bnlybeeh there two months when he was burnt, out. The' insurance money, which he had received, he. had divided amongst his creditors as far it would go. Since the. fire lie had been hawking tlit country with groceries, but did not find i. pay, and so had discontinued. ' He had beer summoned by Lees and Evans, and judg ment had been entered against him. H< filed because he saw no prospect of clearing off his present liabilities. The bankrupl was further questioned as to his transactions and the estate was left in the hands of th. Official Assignee to deal with.
