ENTERTAINMENTS.

** Oh Wednesday evening an effective display was made at Kaiapoi in aid of the proposed bicycle track in the park. Some sixty or seventy cyclists rode in procession 1 through the principal streets, all more or less decorated, and headed by the .brass band in a drag. Then a move was made to the Oddfellows' HalT, -where a concert was given to a crowded audience. The following contributed items : —Misses Baker, Samuels, Meadow and Young, and Messrs Bennett, Manning, Ryan, Walker and Petersen. There were also items on the banjo and mandolin. Encores were frequent. Mr Sidney Smith, of Christchurch, deserves special mention for his efforts in organising the meeting, which was a great success, and the amount realised will be considerably augmented by the concert. A dance concluded the evening's entertainment.
