; ASHBURTGN. .. . The attendance-af the Ashburton Yards on Tuesday was good. The entry of sheep numbered about 3000, and prices were aoout on a par with last week Fat sheep brought :—Cross-bred ewes, lls Id to 13b 6d; lambs, 10s Id to 10s 6d; wethers,l4s to 15s 4d; merino ewes, 6s 9d to os iia; freezing lambs up to 13s 7d; freezing sheep, 10s to 14s 7d. Store sheep fetched: - Merino ewes, in lamb, 6s; cross-bred cues, in lamb, 9s 6d to 10s 5d ; turnip sheep, lib 8d to 15s 4d. Cattle were m very poor demand. Fat cows brought from £3 to £4 15s ; fat heifers, £2 15s to £5 5s ; steers, £5 2s 6d to £4 17s 6d.
