LINWOOD.
A special meeting of the Lanwooa Borough' 'Council was; held last night for the purpose of hearing objections to the | burgess list-? present— Councillors Mart shall, Board, Jamieson, Brunt, A yers, \ Pearee and Taylor. Councillor Marshall •was voted to 'the chair. Arjologrcs for absence were received from the Mayor and tfrbm Counfcfflor-'Cleworth.. The. Chairman said that ho objections toUhe list, had 'been received. He had, however, received a communication from the '±evn Clerk stating that twenty-two claims 'for enrolment had been. received'<since' • April *14; and suggesting that, -as ,t*he Act did' not) clearly state thp date on wTnch enrolment ceased, the applications •slftiu'd be psssed. ' The suggestion was adopted, and the Mayor and Councillors Ayers and Joseph Taylor were authorised to' sign the lists. A letter ■wifs read from Mr I. H. Bruges, asking the Council's consent *o the form*tion of ' a 'private right-of-way, eighteen links in width, from Worcester Street through Lots 30 and 31 to Mr Iln-ons* bakery. Leave ■was granted, and the meeting terminated.
