CYCLING.

LEAGUE OF WHEELMEN. A meeting of the executive of the League of New Zealand Wheelmen, was held at the Clarendon Hotel last, evening < present — Messrs W. E. Thompson (chairman), A. R. Kirk, W. G. Atack, W. G. Williams, G. E. Good, G. H. Lethaby and F, M'Kechnie. W. F. M'Keich, Lawrence, wrote, with regard to the decision of the executive in requesting him to publish a contradiction of the statement that a certain official at a race meeting had been guilty of betting on an event decided at the meeting. The executive decided to direct M'Keich to publish the contradiction within fourteen days, in default he would be suspended. G. Cox, who was coupled with M'Keich "■ in the executive's decision, was reported to have left the colony. The Secretary to the .Hibernian Sports Association, Oamaru, wrote, regarding the failure of W. •Broome, a rider at the sports, to furnish full particulars of his previous performances. It was decided that, as Broome's entry form was informal, ne should not be entitled to any prize won at the meeting. A. W. Humphreys, G. Lewis and R. Cooke attended and explained that they had entered for the St Patrick's Day sports at Geraldine on condition that they could get to the town in time for the sports. . They stated that they had..gofc--as far as Ashburtonj where they had ppmpeted. Tihey would not have been able toget as far as ; (Jeraldine. fit was resolved that) as the conditions oh which the entries had. been, accepted had not been fulfilled, the. entry fees could' not be enforced. Four riders were placed on the forfeit list- for the non-payment of fees and fines'. It was decided that all fines imposed on competitors for refusing to follow pace in' the Mile Championship at Wanganui should be remitted. It was decided to recommend 'bhe Championiship;/' Committee to vote the Secretary £10 10s for his services. Mr W. B. Eyre wrote, accepting the position of official liaridicapper for the Auckland district. The offer of the Christclnirch Cycling Club to sell the Enfield cup case was" accepted. G. Porter's record of 2hr 17min from Riccarton to Leeston and back was passed. It was decided that, un- J less the subscriptions of the Hawera, Weraroa, Ariel, Vincent, Alexandra and Riverton Clubs were paid by June 30 their names shoulld be erased from the roll. It was decided that the Amateur Atuletic Associatition should be asked to receive a deputation from' the League to discuss the future government of amateur cych'ng, Messrs Kirk, M'Kechnie and Good being appointed to act on behalf of the League.
