[Per Press Association.! STRATFORD, May 16. 1 A largely attended public meeiting was held last night to discuss the attitude that the Temperance Party should take up at the next election. People of all shades of political opinion were present. After a long and lively discussion it was decided not to ran a prohibition candidate. Every effort is, however, to he made to carry prohibition at the local option poll. . Great dissatisfaction was expressed at the action of the Magistrate - (there being no licensing committee iii the Egmont district) in granting eleven o'clock licenses last June without! notice, and. it was decided to employ counsel ' at the annual meeting in June to oppose the eleven o'clock extension this year. The school committees are to be asked to introduce temperance lesson books ■ into the schools. .
