METEOROLOGICAL.
MONDAY'S WEATHER. Fbom Observations Taken at 9 a.m.' The barometric readings were uneven Cape Maria Van Diemen 30.07, Auckland 29.95, Wellington 30.03, Christchurch 30 17 Hanmer Plains 29.88, Bluff 30.15. Southerly and westerly winds prevailed, and af a large number of places the sky was overcast, wet weather being recorded at Mnnukau Heads, Auckland, Tauranga, Napier, Castlepoint, Wanganui, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown. The sea was rough or heavy in the far north, Castlepoint, Wanganui, Cape Campbell, Farewell. Spit and Nuggets. The shade temperature ranged from 67deg in the north to 46deg in the south ; Christchurch 42deg.
