Sir Michael Hicks-B.ach will receive a deputation of the Agents-General on the subject of the colonial wine duties next Tun - day. In. the House of Commons, .Sir M. HicksBeach said that the exemption of colonial wines would involve, oh present consumption, a loss of £20,000 yearly. He feared that the preferential treatment of colonial wines would result in foreign wines being shipped to the colonies and re-exported to Great Britain, 'thus largely increasing the loss.
