The officials here are sanguine that the Commissioners will satisfactorily settle the Samoan difficulty. SYDNEY, April 4. The military authorities hold to the opinion that it is unlikely that New Zealand's offer will be accepted. Germany will probably object as an interference with the tripartite control. One high official ■states that there ore plenty of warships to :spare, .and it is unlikely that soldiers will •be sent to Samoa.
[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, April 4. The Government steamer Tutanekad is still in waiting at tho Railway Wharf in connection with the proposal to send volunteers to Samoa. The Permanent Artillery are in readiness at the North Shore, awaiting orders. Arrangement* .have been made to ship the necessary .additional coal and Btores on the Tutanekai at '/eiy short notice.
