HAWKE'S BAY v. WELLINGTON.

WELLINGTON, Dec. 27, The annual interprovincial match between ; Hawke's Bay and Wellington was played on ;■". the Basin Reserve to-day, and as the game had to be confined to one day, it resulted hi a draw. The wicket suffered considerably from the effects of the heavy rain, and was yery dead. The game was of an uninteresting character, and only attracted aßout ,eight hundred spectators. Wellington, in the first innings, made 153. C. Hickson played fine cricket for 27, and Robertson scored 24 in merry style. Hughes, with six ■wickets for 80, carried off the bowling ihonours. The match between teams from ths United and Wellington Clubs was concluded yesterday, when the home team won by four wickets. For the winners D. M'Grogor 15 and D. Brown 12, and for Coutts Island Davis 10 were the chief scorers. In the bowling, D. M'Gregor and Power for Tram Road, and .
