PRIZE DISTRIBUTIONS.

CONVENT* SCHOOL; The annual distribution of prizes to the children attending the girls' parish school, in connection with the Convent of the Sacred Heart, took place in the Convent Hall, yesterday afternoon. There was a very large attendance of parents and friends', and the Very Rev Father Le-Men-ant des Chesnais presided, and distributed the prizes. A programme of instrumental and vocal music was gjven by the children, assisted by somo young ladies from the high school, Miss Katie Young being accompanist. During the afternoon a drama entitled " The Fire of London," was creditably performed by a number of the children. In one of the rooms of the Convent theie was an exhibition of the work done by the pupils of both tho high and parish schools. The display included oil and crayon paintings, fancy and plain needlework, modelling in wax, flowermaking in paper, silk and was, and useful and ornamental work of other kinds. The work, especially of the High School pupils, showed that the pupils had been carefully trained.
