MONDAY'S WEATHER. From Observations Taken at 9 a.m. The prevailing winds were southerly, the exceptions being north to east at Blenheim, Nelson and Greymouth. The barometric range was remarkably even— 29-60 in the extreme north and 29 g 6l at Invercargill ; but the temperature was very low in the south, the thermometer at Invercargill registering- only 43deg, while at Auckland the record was 62deg. Blue Bky with clouds prevailed at most of the stations, and although " cloudy to gloomy " was reported from intermediate stations, rain was conspicuous only by its absence.
