THE DEATH OF NORMAN NERUDA
MELBOURNE, Oct. 19.
Mr Norman Neruda had ascended tha Langkofel, and attempted to descend the Schmid Kanun, the longest and most dangerous piece of rock climbing in the whole of the Dolomites. A piece of rock to which Neruda was clinging gave way, precipitating him to the bottom. His pa^iy s alarm signals were not responded to till next morning. Neruda died shortly after the arrival of the relief party. A DROWNING CASE.. , Two lads; brothers, ; named West, were bathing at Horsham and got 'out of their depth:. A man named Barrett went to the rescue, saying one. The other jumped on to his shoulders, and Barrett and the.Jad were drowned. A FATAL LEAP. HOBART, Oct. 19. A passenger named James Hall by the Talune from the Bluff was drowned in trying' to jump to the wharf.
