TEACHERS' TRAVELLING TICKETS.
[Pfb Pbess Association.! DUNEDIN, Sept. 22. The Railway Department brought a test case against a public school teacher, the holder of. a ticket which . was issued . for attending weekly tuition in town, for using the same for other purposes. It was shown that the teacher in question. Jeft his home bona fide to attend .the class, but 1 was- taken ill .in. :to.wn, ? returning next morning. This case was dismissed.- Another teacher who was similarly charged pleaded guilby. It was ' shown that he dbtained the .. concession for the purpose of attending a Latin class, which he never attended, though he had attended a singing class ou some of the* Saturdays that he travelled. The Magistrate infliotad a fine of 403 and costs in each of the two cases against this teacher.
