THE AMERICAN DEMANDS. VOLUNTEERS TO REMAIN ENROLLED. United Press Association — By Electrio ; * Telegraph — Copyright. LONDON, Sept. 15. The New York correspondent of the " Times " states that the American members of the Peace Commission, to whom the question of -the disposal of the Philippines was submitted, demand the cession of the island of Luzon and a coaling station in the Ladrones. The correspondent also states that besides the regular army of America, 125,000 volunteers will remain enrolled. General Wheeler anticipates a renewal of | the war. ' ! News from the Philippines states that 15,000 insurgents evacuated the suburbs of Manila, in deference to the wishes of General Merritt. MADRID, Sept. 15. The Cortes has been prorogued.
