Captain Edwin sent the following weather forecast to Captain Clark yesterday afternoon: — " Gale from between north-east and north and west at all places northward of New Plymouth, Taupo and East Cape, soon; moderate "between west and south-west and south during next ten hours, from thence southward to Timaru and Hokitika, to gale from between north and east and south-east, after that time ; strong easterly winds elsewhere after twelve hours. ' Barometer further fall at all places northwards of Napier and Raglan, fall everywhere else. Sea heavy on all western coast, also on east coast south of Castle Point and north of East Cape.
