A BRITISH ULTIMATUM. THE ATTITUDE OF THE PORTE. United Press Association — By Electric Telegraph— Copyrighc. CANDIA, Sept. 14. Admiral Noel, in command of the British fleet, has issued on ultimatum to Edhain Pasha, directing him to disarm, the population, surrender the ringleaders of the disturbance and refund the tithes collected, also surrender the forts commanding the British camp within forty-eight hours. Edham Pasha pleads inability to execute the demands. : CONSTANTINOPLE, Sept. 14. The Porte has issued a circular to the Powers refusing to withdraw the Turkish troops and Bashi Bazouks from Candia. It has, however, undertaken to disarm the Mussulmans on condition that their weapons are handed to the Turkish authorities.
