[Per Pkess Association.] HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. Thursday, Sept. 1. EVENING SITTING. The debate on the motion that the map ba inserted in " Hansard," and the amendment that the map be circulated with "Hansard," was resumed. At 2.25 a division was taken on the recommendation of the Reporting Debates Committee that the map be inserted in "Hansard," which was negatived by 25 to 21. The following is the division list: — Ayes, 21: Bollard, Brown, Carson, Crowther, Fraser, Herries, G. Hutchison, Lang, Lethbridge, Lewis, ATGuire, M'Lean, Massey, Monk, Moore, Pirani, Rolleston, Russell, Tanner, J. W. Thomson, Wason. Noes, 25: E. G. Allen, Cadman, Camcross, Carroll, Flatman, Gilfedder, HallJones, Hogg, Houston, Kaihau, Lawry, M'Gowan, R. M'Kenzie, Meredith, Millar, Mills, Morrison, O'Meara, Parata, Pere, Reddon, Stevens, Symes, T. Thompson, Ward. Pairs: For —Sligo, Hunter, Duthie, Scobie Mackenzie, Wright, Montgomery, Taylor, M'Nab, Smith, Buchanan, Kelly. Against —Larnach, Holland, Field, J.. M'Kenzie, Fisher, Wilson, Joyce, Graham, Steward, Duncan, O'Regan. Several divisions were taken • on amendments proposed to Mr Seddon's amendment, but they were all negatived by the same numbers, 25 to 21. Mr Carson moved an amendment that other members have the privilege of inserting maps in " Hansard," provided that the Speaker considers they are necessary to the elucidation of speeches. . The Hon R. J. Seddon said .that he had no objection to the proposal, but he pointed out that it should be. moved as a separate motion. The motion was negatived by 25 to 21, j and Mr Seddon's amendment was agreed to. The House rose at 4.35 a.m.
