He desires a concession 1 for fifty years. i At the annual -meeting of the Northern ! Boot and Shoe Company, a dividend of S per cent was deolared. The sum of .£250 Las been paid off 'the mortgage, which has . now been brought down to £1250. ] At the Supreme Court a charge pre-^ i ferred against Mrs Amy Stewart of having ' murdered, her four-year-old daughter at Bakauwhi, near Kaikohe, in June last, was ' heard. Accused is twenty-five years^ of 'flge. It transpired that she f.nd her bus- 1 band lived, under very poor circumstances, ' and for three months previous to the ;com- 3 mission of the act received charitable aid. ] Accused sat in. the. dock, and appeared, to ! take no interest in the proceedings. Mr J. . Jj. Seed, who appeared for the defence, set ; up a plea of insanity. Accused, was com- , nutted to the lunatic asylum pending the Colonial Secretary's pleasure. . (
