WELLINGTON, March 25.
About 90,000 salmon ova, from the rivers Spey and Leith, in Scotland, were shipped on the Eimutaka, which arrived in Wellington on Thursday, but an inspection s'.-jws that a good many have died. Five boxea will be sent to Dunedin and another to Oamaru.
Mr J. Myers, a oity councillor, on leaving the Council meeting last night, was knocked down on Wellington Terrace and left there unconscious for nearly an-hour." When falling he heard his assailant say "It is the wrong man." His hat was" split in two by the force of the blows.
