EOSS, March 25,
"• A : large and enthusiastic meeting was held here last night, at which a Mining League was formed to ventilate the yalues of the Eoss deep levels, with the view of inducing foreign capital to work them. The Government, after having given the Eoss United Company every facility for eighteen years to develop and work the ground, at the joint request of the Eoss Borough Council and- the Ross Miners' Association, resumed the auriferous lands for non-compliance for ten years with the Labour clauses, and for the non-pay-ment of -any rent for five years. The Eoss flat having been declared a public mining reserve, .with no lien whatsoever, it is confidently believed that foreign capital will now come in.
