LAW TENNIS.
The tournament between th© lady mem- ' hers of the Albion Lawn Tennis Club has, says our Ashburton correspondent, just been completed. The winner is Mrs S. Hardley, sen., who becomes the possessor of a handsome Venetian casket, the trophy for which the contest took place. There was alarge attendance to witness the match between the Ashburton Lawn Tennis Club and the Victoria Club (Temuka). The match resulted in a win for the local club by the narrow margin of three games. Several sets were unfinished, owing to the early departure of the train. Mrs Crisp provided afternoon tea.
