MASONIC.

The installation meeting of the Lodge of Concord, No. 39, Papanui, was held last night, there being a crowded attendance of members of the Craft. Fn the presence of a Board of twenty-seven Installed Masters, the "W.M. elect, Bro Eobert Coates, was duly installed by P.M. Bro H. ,T. Hobden, assisted by P.M. Bros Jackson, Hull, R. Trist Searell, M'Dougall, Were, T. L. Smith and Drs Withers and Trotter. The ceremony was most impressively performed, the choir rendering appropriate music, Bro Bates, of Lodge Unanimity, presiding at the organ. An exceedingly handsome Past Master's jewel was presented to the retiring Master, Bro M'Dougall, in recognition of his services to the Lodge. The officers installed were as follow :— W.M., Bro Eoberfc Coates ; 1.P.M., Bro W. H. M'Dougall ; S.W., Bro J. Ferguson ; J.W., Bro H. J. Hopkins ; Treasurer, Bro D. Buntin, P.M.; Secretary, Bro E. Morgan; Chaplain, Bro W. J. Jackson, P M • SD Bro A. H. Webb ; J.D., Bro T. Horton; 1.G., Bro W. Nicholls; D.C., Bro J. W. Homer, P.M.; Tyler, Bro George May; Stewards, Bros G. A. Ellis andH. A. Kent ; Lecture Master, Bro W. Gifkins, P.M. ; Instructor, Bro W. H. Were, P.M. After the ceremony the brethren adjourned Ito the Church of England schoolroom, where a sumptuous supper was served, the caterer being Bro Homer. The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured, and a particularly pleasant hour was spent, songs and recitations enlivening the proceedings. ______
