MIDLAND RAILWAY.

[Fbom Our Correspondent.]. WELLINGTON, March 15. It will in all probability be a fortnight before work will be commenced on the Springfield section of the Midland Railway, as it is expected that it will take some time to prepare the plans of the work , to be undertaken. There is no sign yet of any action being laid as given notice of by certain debenture - holders last year, although the period has elapsed, since the date of giving notice, within •which an action could be commenced. There is a feeling that the debenture-holders' action was intended as an attempt to bluff t,he Government, and it is not expected that ■ tho threatened action will be gone on with.
