Clarke and Co., opposite Keoce's —Advt Smoke Concert. —A smoke concert, in honour of the returning team who coin- ~- peted at the Auckland Fire Brigade competition, was held at the Chester Street Fire Brigade Station on Friday evening, when Superintendent Smith presided, aud • welcomed the team back in a few wellchosen words. In presenting Foreman Tattersall with a silver-mounted pipe on behalf of the team, the Chairman referred in eulogistic terms to the efforts or that gentleman in coaching the team while in Auckland, in recognition of which the presentation was made. During the evening songs were contributed by Messrs Tattersall, Long, Cowan, Faulkner, Henderson, Oakes, Hawleyand White; readings by Messv&Hall and Cnsack, and a recitation by Mr Anderson.
