CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday, March 12. (Before Mr R. Beetham, S.M.) Drunkenness. — For this offence Mary Cameron was fined 20s, or, in default, fourteen days' imprisonment. — Robert Evans and Sophia Tudhope were each fined 10s or forty-eight hours' imprisonment. Alleged Indecent Exposure. — Richard Mant was charged on remand with indecent exposure on the South Belt on March 1. Accused was able to prove that he was elsewhere on the date the offence was alleged to have been committed. Mr Beetham said there was no case against him, and he was discharged. Alleged Theft. — Charles M'Lellan pleaded not guilty to stealing a cheque value £3 19s, the property of Joseph Stutteridge. He was remanded till Tuesday to allow of evidence being collected at Culverden, bail being allowed in one surety of __30— Thomas Hoggins was charged with having stolen, on March 11, some articles of clothing, valued at £1. He was remanded till Tuesday next. LYTTELTON. Saturday, March 12. (Before Mr J. Hamilton, J.P.) Disobeying Orders. — James Seaton, a seaman on board the ship Blenheim, was charged with wilfully disobeying orders and with continued absence. He was sent to gaol for fourteen days.
