CYCLE CORPS.

A meeting was held at eight o'clock last night, at Morten's Buildings, to consider the advisableness of the establishment of a cycle detachment in connection with the Noith "■ Canterbury Infantry battalion. Captain Hobday presided. It was reported that, twenty members were willing to join the proposed corps, this being the maximum strength which the Government would, at present, accept. The necessary forms were duly signed, and Mr H. J. Jenkins was appointed to represent -the corps in the offer of its services to the Government. A meeting will be called on the receipt of the Government's decision.
