• — ■' » . ■ — fPRB PKEBB D.UNEDIft". March 7. • At St Paul's Cathedral yesterday three students from Selwyn College were ordained to the deacouate by Bishop NeTill. The Key E. S. Wayne has been accepted for work at Norfolk Island, the Eev F. Latter is to serve in the diocese of Auckland, and the Rev Davidson is licensed to the curacy of Queenstown. ■ ■ At a meeting of the Otago Central Railway League a resolution was passed — " That the League learns with regret that no work is being done or is, apparently, contemplated on the Otago Central Railway beyond Eweburn, and they consider it is absolutely essential, especially in view of the large development of the mining in- 1 dustry in the interior of Otago, that arrangements be immediately made to start the formation of the next section after harvest, when many men are likely to be out of employment." Mr W. Barron, in a letter contrasting the progress of the line with that on the Congo in Equatorial Africa, suggested that the League, owing to its antiquity, should take part in the jubilee procession.
