[Per Pjrkss Association.! WELLINGTON, March 8. A sad shooting' accident happened at Akatarawa.[near Upper Huttf this morning. Two brothers, Frederick and William Lee, were mustering cattle, when a bull turned on them. Frederick, aged eighteen, discharged a gun and then climbed a tree. He called to his brother to re-load the gun, and while the Jatter was handing the weapon to his brother, a branch caught the trigger and the gun went off, the charge landing in Frederick's right side. Death was almost instantaneous.

On Friday evening, Mr K. M'lntosh was driving home to Flaxfcon from the Eangiora horse fair, when his trap collided with a vehicle coming in the opposite direction. He was thrown ont on to the roadway, and sustained a very severe scalp wound, his head being cut from the forehead to the back.
