OTHER MATCHES.

A match was played at Lyttelton on Saturday between teams representing the Lyttelton and Linwood clubs and, resulted in a win for the visitors on the first innings. Lyttelton made 29 in their first attempt and 78 upon going in again, Olliver not out 30, and Just jun. 18, being the chief scorers. Linwood compiled 54, Poore 15 and Fleming 13. This left .the visitors 54 to get to win and about threequarters of an hour to play. When time was called they had lost nine wickets for 38 runs. Tor Linwood, Flemming, Toomer and Thomson did the bowling, while for Lyttelton, Lewin and M'lnerney got the wickets. At Kaiapoi Park, on Saturday afternoon, two matches were played between the Kaiapoi Woollen Factory employes and. the employes at the warehouse in Christchurch. The first was between the young men employes of both departments, and resulted in a decisive victory for the Kaiapoi men. The scores were — Chrisbchurch Warehouse, 60 ; Kaiapoi Factory, 141 for three wickats, Clayton 48 not out,. Martin 26 and Featherstone 49 not out being the chief scorers. M'Leary and Kerr for Christchurch and Clayton and Martin for Kaiapoi bowled best. The second match was between the senior members of both establishments, and ended in favour of the city establishment. The scores were — Kaiapoi 68, B. Horsfall 16 not out, Wilby 15 and Rollinson 14 being the chief scorers ; Christchurch 85, Kinvig 45 not out and Ellis 8. C. Marriott seven wickets, and Taylor and Nolan one wicket each, were the best with the ball. Afternoon tea was provided by the local men, and was served by Mr and Mrs D. Heney,. the Park caretakers. A match, Rangiora v. Kowai, played at Rangiora on Saturday, resulted in a victory for the latter team by 6 runs. The scores were : — Kowai 105 (Vallance, 41) and Rangiora 99 (Reeves, 44; Birss, 18, and Efford, 18). Reeves and Felton bowled best for Rangiora and Thompson for Kowai.
