CHRISTCHURCH.
Monday, March 7. (Before Mr A. Scott, J.P., and Mr J. Forrester, J.P.) Drunkenness.— A first offender, who had been locked up since Saturday, was discharged, and another, who did not answer to hisbail.was fined 5s and costs. — Eichard Legg, for drunkenness while in charge of a horse and cart, was fined 5s and costs. Prohibition Order. — A prohibition order, to apply to Christchurch and the surrounding districts, was issued against a man on the application of his wife. Alleged Indecent Exposure.— George Merritt, for whom Mr Byrne appeared, was charged with an offence of this nature. Accused was remanded until Wednesday. On the application of Mr Byrne, bail was allowed in two sureties of .£25 each. A charge of the same nature against Richard ITant was similarly treated. Alleged Theft of a Cheque.— Charles M'Clelland, charged with having, on March 4, stolen a cheque for M 19s from Joseph •Stntridge, was remanded until Saturday. Bail was allowed, of two securities of .£SO o£LCtl * ' (Before Mr E. Beetham, S.M.) Civil Cases.— Judgment for plaintiff by 'default was given in E. W. Boper v. Lilian Miller claim 6s 6d.— N. S. Dale and Son v. Em ?y Robertson, claim 48 lls 6d Mr B?rne appeared for the plaintiff and Mr Swell for defendant. The claim was for lvork done, goods supplied and damages for Scessivedistraint for rent. Judgment wls for plaintiff for 9s, 10s 6d and Is, with costs .£1 6s 6d.
